About the event

In the fall of 2025 after many years of hard work, The Missisquoi River Basin Association removed a man made dam in Newport Center on Mud Creek and we want to celebrate the success with you!

This project has already resulted in great improvements for water quality and wildlife. In the spring of 2026, we returned to the site with local students to plant 600 native trees. These trees will help hold the river bank in place, filter out pollutants, and provide habitat to wildlife.

Join MRBA and community members on Friday July 24th to see the progress being made on this site, enjoy a meal, and chat about the project.

Please email info@mrbavt.com with any questions regarding the event.
